Security control and search room

DISTRIBUTION CENTERS

OVERVIEW

At Nike, our security team is committed to making sure all our places, especially our Distribution Centers, are secure and safe environments. We focus on security to build trust and keep everyone safe in a welcoming environment.

The Security Space types consist of two distinct spaces:

1. Security Control Room: an enclosed space designed to monitor the building 24/7

2. Search Room: a space for conducting searches

Design Goals

  • Co-locate Security Rooms at the primary entrance of a building. These are enclosed centralized space for 24/7 building monitoring.
  • Locate these spaces adjacent to the secure lines. Access is required from both the public and secure workspace. See diagram on Entry and Exit.
  • Ensure dual access from both sides of the secure line.
  • Design a Security Control Room control room layout that includes a large control desk with ample space for multiple monitors
  • Collaborate with the security team to design these spaces
  • Install a badge reader for secure access for these spaces
  • Ensure that in a campus with multiple primary entrances, each building has Security Control Room and Search Room spaces
