WELLNESS & MULTI-FAITH ROOM
OVERVIEW
Private space to support rest and recovery.
Wellness rooms encourage balance and wellbeing for employees with a private space designed to support breaks for physical or mental health. The design allows people to step away from their work and sit, stretch, or lay on the floor or sofa. A sink is helpful for some prayer practices or to freshen up.
This is separate from the mothers’ room, except in offices with less than 75 headcounts, where the two can be combined.
Design Goals
- In buildings that have public amenities, locate in a public space, outside the secure perimeter in discreet location and entrance.
- Share plumbing wall with restrooms or other plumbed spaces when possible. Separate access to the sink area.
- Architecture and brand are interchangeable with the single-user mothers’ room.

Branding
Wellness and multi-faith rooms are for inward focus and should feel inviting to everybody. Brand applications should be understated, with calming wall color and graphic artwork that is consistent with the larger workplace environment, but provides a neutral and restful retreat from the activity outside. Avoid bold or saturated colors that might feel aggressive or jarring to occupants, and be careful to curate graphic content that does not provoke strong feelings. It is usually best to avoid bold logos and brand quotes, as well as athlete imagery or artworks showing people's faces.

Calm Color and Lighting
Warm, natural tones are complemented by a simple, abstract textural wall graphic that gives a human touch without demanding attention. Dimmable lighting allows the environment to be tuned to the user's needs. Local service teams are encouraged to provide accessories and amenities.
