DISTRIBUTION CENTERS

OVERVIEW

A pick-up and drop-off point is a designated area where vehicles can stop briefly to collect or drop passengers.


Design Goals

  • Located near building entrance/reception area
  • Accessible waiting area for collection or drop-off
  • Space for vehicles to wait without disrupting traffic
  • Ensure the area is welcoming, accessible, and safe for everyone
  • If possible, include protection from sun, wind, and inclement weather
  • Pick-up and Drop-off should accommodate space for public / Nike-run transport services, if no Bus Shelter is provided on site

REQUIRED SPECIFICATIONS

  • Furnishing
    • Include seating for people waiting for rides
    • Include trash cans and recycling bins

  • Wayfinding
    • See Wayfinding section
    • Line of sight or directional signs to the building(s) entrance(s) along an accessible route (particularly at key intersections/decision points)
  • Safety and Security
    • Provide non-slip surfaces in and around spaces for safety in wet conditions
    • Provide exterior lighting to wait safely in low light conditions (early mornings or late evenings when visibility may be low) 
    • Install security cameras or other surveillance measures
