What is the role of the Global Standards team?
To create standards for corporate and DC. Standards that advance the future of GPS's environments and experiences, embody Purpose and drive efficiency across our Ecosystem. The Standards team is here to help you plan, build, and service the environments and experiences for Nike and the athlete*.

Who needs access to this website?
You will need access to the site if you are a teammate, partner, or consultant who will be working on parts of our ecosystem that deal with the environment, experiences, and services.

How does an external consultant gain access to the website?
If an external consultant doesn't have a Nike email for Okta access and needs access to the website:
- The project sponsor (someone with Nike email account) submits a request for access for the consultant via this request form
- Review and approval process generally takes 48-72 hours
- Once approved, the consultant will get an email with access confirmation
- The consultant will need to set up a new password upon initial visit
- Clicking the login link, they'll re-enter email and password to gain full access to the external website at gps.standards.external.nike.com. Success!

Will I be notified about updates to the standards throughout the year?
Annual updates to the Standards will be made and sent out to the teams.

How often are the guardrails updated?
These are checked and adjusted yearly based on current market. Each year, we will reach out to Program Directors to obtain finalized budget sheets for projects with line item detail. We will use this information to analyze each project and create guardrails for the teams.

Is there onboarding or training available for the standards?
Training is provided at the launch of new content. Please reach out to us here if you need help.

Are the standards required or a recommended best practice?
The website states both standards and recommended best practices. Standards are relevant guidelines that should be leveraged in all applicable GPS executions. Best practices will be identified and should be used by GPS teams when they apply.

What if the standard cannot be executed in my region/geo/country?
We do our best to make to make the standards globally relevant with all countries in mind. If you find that a standard that you cannot execute please partner with our team by filling out this form, so that we can provide guidance.

What if the standard is in conflict with local code?
The GPS standards typically exceed local code requirements. However for any situations where GPS standards don’t meet code, comply with local regulations.

What if there's a conflict between what I see in a photo and what is written in the website?
Project teams should follow what's written in the website. The photo gallery provides examples and inspiration. We're always learning and evolving the Standards, so photos from past projects may not reflect 100% of what's in the Standards. Please ask us if you have any questions!
