Recovery Zone

DISTRIBUTION CENTERS

OVERVIEW

The Recovery Zone is a non-bookable dedicated area for Shopfloor employees to engage in relaxation, mindfulness, and self-care activities.

Design Goals

  • Locate near the Shopfloor perimeter for convenient access during shift breaks, while strategically situating them away from main circulation route to create a more calming experience
  • Space may exist within a closed room or partially open environment
  • Provide soft finishes to create a welcoming, calming, and stress-free environment
  • Avoid creating multiple Recovery Zone spaces within the building; for availability, it’s easier for people to go to one location
  • Install comfortable reclining seats or massage chairs (if budget permits)
  • Incorporate curtain or dividing screens between open areas as needed
  • Encourage natural light wherever possible in this space
  • Flexibility to adjust setup for logistics operational efficiency
  • Space is separate from the Wellness Room
