CONFERENCE ROOM

CORPORATE OFFICES & DISTRIBUTION CENTERS

OVERVIEW

Meeting space that can be reserved.

These are bookable, fully enclosed spaces designed for group work and collaboration with a presentation screen and video conference system.

Design Goals

  • The mix of room sizes is research-based to support the way Nike works.
  • Locate the majority of conference rooms within the secure workspace, with the Large elevated room and at least one X-Large room in the public space for easy access. Group Conference Rooms with spaces that have similar functions and noise requirements.
  • Where an interior room is without access to an exterior wall or window, provide “borrowed light” from a glazed opening in an interior wall that allows light to pass from one room into another.
  • Conference rooms can be used to divide open workspace into neighborhoods to ensure the right scale is maintained; the entrance door should open onto the primary or secondary circulation path where possible.
  • Rooms need to function for hybrid and in-persona meetings. Typical Room have acoustic ceilings and carpeted floors provide absorption to help sound quality.

  • X-Large Rooms may be used as a training room or event space (subject to local team support); verify catering, storage, and AV requirements

Branding

Branding in Conference Rooms should strike a balance between creating interest and supporting functionality. Consider the appearance for both in-person and virtual attendees, and the usability of walls with work surfaces or video conferencing equipment. Room naming introduces Brand storytelling and connects to Wayfinding themes for the building.

For typical Conference Rooms, thoughtful color choices can give rooms their own identity and connect to surrounding spaces. Utilize Nike archives to activate one wall with framed artwork, wallcovering, or branded acoustic material. For rooms with expansive windows, additional branding may not be necessary.

The Large Elevated Conference Room offers the opportunity for more creativity and a bespoke brand installation.

Accent Paint and Framed Art

Accent paint and framed art are commonly used as branding to add interest and tie into the local story. Often these graphics are evergreen Nike Art Department graphics or heritage material from DNA.

Jerry Rice, PHK, USA

Branded Wallcovering

Custom-printed wallpaper designed from Nike imagery provides a dynamic backdrop that gives the room character. Be cautious of bold patterns that are distracting or cause dizziness when trying to focus on conversations and presentations.

Melbourne, Austraila

Window Film

Standard window film helps to obscure sensitive material being worked on in the room, while still allowing ample natural light to pass through the space. This also allows employees to see when the room is occupied, therefore helping to avoid meeting interruptions.

Hilversum, EHQ

X-Large Conference Room

A high capacity, flexible space that can be re-configured to meet team's needs. Branding should be minimal, prioritizing wall space for whiteboards or presentation space.
