Why Nutrition Standards are important

At Nike, Nutrition is the fuel we need to power our bodies and is critical in supporting a strong connection to our brand and our work community. Nutrition plays a significant role in elevating the overall employee experience, enabling Nike employees to reach their full potential to achieve business objectives.


The Nutrition Standards set by Nike aim to create a supportive food experience with standardized services across Nike, uniting both employees and food service providers so that everyone can thrive, perform at their best, and contribute positively to Nike's success.


We have identified seven outcomes in which the Nutrition Standards will support:

In order to steer the direction of Nike's nutrition capability, it is crucial that leadership, employees, and food service providers grasp our fundamental focus. The following are Nike's commitments in the delivery of food service, aimed at providing guidance for decision-making.

Menu Inclusivity

  • Nike locations provide diverse and appealing food options that are inclusive to dietary needs and  informed by demand​
  • Nike locations provide food options that reflect a spectrum of selections (but not infinite choice)


KPIs

  • Nike locations standardize and track key performance indicators that drive key business objectives for the nutrition capability​

Tracking & Reporting

  • Nike locations standardize financial reporting across all locations, ensuring consistency and timeliness in monitoring progress towards our overall business objectives​


Employee Feedback

  • Nike locations  source employee feedback to inform the future of the food program and inform key decisions


Waste Reduction, Recycling, & Diversion

  • Nike aims for 100% waste diverted ​from landfill in HQs and 100% HQs waste recycled ​or composted​​
  • Nike aims for a 20% reduction ​in HQs disposed waste per employee​

Equipment Energy Efficiency

  • Nike aims for a 15% reduction of scope 1 HQ and office emissions​

Fleet Vehicle Emissions

  • Nike aims for a 64% reduction ​in HQ fleet vehicles scope 1 emissions

A larger self-serve cafeteria with a dedicated kitchen to prepare food

A coffee bar that is serviced by a barista where specialty drinks and light food options are served

SELF SERVICE MARKET

Self-checkout market serving Nike locations featuring quick and convenient food and beverages

FUEL STATION

An area for personal food storage and heating, and serves free water, coffee, and tea
