DC SUSTAINABILITY

DISTRIBUTION CENTERS

OVERVIEW

“To address the urgency of climate change and its impact on sport and our business, NIKE is committed to innovating and partnering to find solutions that help protect the planet, and with it, the future of sport. NIKE’s goal is to reduce our environmental footprint, and – to do this – we focus on on our areas of greatest impact.”  NIKE Impact Report 2024

We have a responsibility to reduce our impact on the planet from the way we manufacture and distribute products, including the way we design, build and operate our DC facilities.

The Distribution Center Global Sustainability Standards focus on the targets that relate specifically to the Built Environment and Building Services (excludes standards related to Supply Chain targets on transportation of product, product manufacture and finishing).

These standards should be considered a baseline requirement for all global projects and project teams can opt to go above the requirements as priority and budget allows.  The standards are applicable to all new Nike DC projects, whether it’s a new construction project, fit out of a core and shell building, or tenant improvements in existing DC.

Sustainability Standard Goals

Nike’s 2025 Enterprise Targets and GPS Sustainability Targets have been translated into these goals that are directly tied to the built environment, prioritizing sustainability metrics that directly impact Nike targets.
