ENERGY

The built environment generates 40% of annual global CO2 emissions.

Building operations are responsible for 27% of the total annual emissions and play a vital role in addressing Nike’s corporate sustainability goals. Collectively working towards zero emission buildings means procuring energy from 100% renewable sources, moving towards electrification, leveraging increased energy efficiency and installing systems with a lower refrigerant impact.

In 2015, Nike joined RE100, a coalition of businesses that have pledged to source 100% renewable energy in their operations.

GPS is looking to lower energy use by incorporating energy modeling into our design approach. Energy modeling allows our teams to analyze different energy efficiency measures and optimize our system selections while balancing cost.
